Stress-Free Spring: Understanding and Managing Hay Fever Naturally
Spring brings blossoms, fresh air... and for many, hay fever. If you've ever wondered whether your symptoms are a cold or hay fever, or if your little ones are extra irritable this season, this blog is for you!
To celebrate wellness this season, we're offering a draw for 2 months free in our October 2022 promo! 🎉
Hay Fever vs Cold & Flu: What's the Difference?
It can be tricky to tell them apart. Here's a quick tip:
Cold/Flu: Comes with body aches, pains, and often fever.
Hay Fever: No body pain, but symptoms like sneezing, watery eyes, and congestion are common.
Common Hay Fever Triggers
Pollens (grass, trees, flowers)
Fungi spores (can be year-round!)
Animal dander (fur, urine, faeces)
Dust and dust mites
Cockroach allergens
Eye Irritation & Lymphatic Overload in Kids
Hay fever often affects the eyes—itchy, watery, swollen eyes, even to the point where kids can’t open them. It might also signal deeper issues like blocked lymphatics, especially in children with parasites.
Look out for signs like:
Pink/purple discoloration around the eyes
Digestive issues
Carb/sugar cravings
Tiredness, crankiness, or mouth breathing during sleep
🧴 Sensitive Reactions & Skin Links
Children with eczema, asthma, or who react strongly to chemicals may have a heightened hay fever response. It’s not immune weakness—it’s respiratory sensitivity.
🌬️ Lung Support Tip:
Apply Raven Essential Oil diluted with V6 or coconut oil to the chest (1–2 drops, 2–3 times daily). Dilute further for young children.
Eliminate Common Triggers
Minimize exposure to:
Synthetic fragrances (lotions, deodorant, hair spray, perfume, nail polish)
Dust (replace carpets/heavy curtains, use eucalyptus & witch hazel sprays)
Polyester clothing and bedding
Cockroach allergens (natural spray available in our forum)
Certain greens with phenolic compounds (if you get itchy while mowing, or have oral itching after cucumber, it might be a genetic enzyme issue)
Watch for High-Histamine Foods
Foods to limit:
Citrus fruits
Strawberries
Fermented foods
Red wine
Bone broth (left over 1 day)
Salty snacks
Can Hay Fever Be Cured?
Some forms are genetic, but improvement is always possible. It starts with identifying and supporting the body’s systems.
Natural Treatments & Remedies
